Helen Dodson Stansel
Rosman – Helen Dodson Stansel, 74, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
She was the daughter of the late Paul and Denton Aiken Dodson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Calvin Stansel.
Helen faithfully attended St. Timothy’s United Methodist Church. She loved the great outdoors especially walking. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She led a simple but fulfilling life and was loved by all who knew her. She was a wonderful mother and a caring grandmother who adored her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter; Cheryl Rice and husband David of Rosman, son; Roger Stansel and wife Christy of Pisgah Forest, sister; Hazel Powell and husband Wendell of Kline, SC, grandchildren; Hannah and Garrett Stansel, Craig Rice and wife Christy, Becky Gravely and husband Shannon and Angie Rice, seven great grandchildren and her faithful companion and walking partner, “Ellie”.
Funeral Services will be held 2pm, Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Bruner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Galloway Memorial Park.
