Pamela Jean Hawes

Brevard – Pamela Jean Hawes, 54, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014.

She was the daughter of the late Zebulon Vance and Sarah Lou Penix Hawes. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her nephew Vance Hawes III.

Pamela graduated from Rosman High School in 1978. She was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. She was very involved in the community volunteering her time with Habitat and various other organizations throughout he life. She enjoyed craft fairs and flea markets. She loved restoring vintage furniture and spending time in her garden. Her greatest joy and achievements were daughters.

Surviving are her daughters; Heidi Kitchen and husband Phillip “Mikki” of Brevard but currently reside in Fort Gordon, GA and Heather Glenn and husband Joey of Timberlake, NC; brothers, Chip Hawes and wife Marsha of Hendersonville, Greg Hawes and wife Tammy of Charlotte and Tim Hawes of Telford, TN; grandchildren (whom she called her “pumpkins”and loved with all her being.), Savada Rayne, Braxton Dewayne and Theo Vance; a niece; Ashley Hawes and nephew, Noah Hawes and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A graveside service will be held 4pm, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you “pay it forward” to someone in need the way that Pamela always did.
