Reba Beatrice Owen McCall

Balsam Grove – Reba Beatrice Owen McCall, 85, went to her heavenly home on Monday, November 24, 2014.

She was the daughter of the late Melvin Fediller and Mary Flora Owen. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Lloyd McCall; one son, Gary Lloyd McCall; brothers, Syvalia and Leon Owen; maternal grandparents, Charlotte and Elbert Owen and paternal grandparents, Fediller and Carnette Owen.

Reba was an avid reader and enjoyed autobiographies and history. She loved to garden and had a special artistic touch with needlepoint. She enjoyed spending time with her dog, William Bartholemew. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her daughters; Wanda Hensley and Mary Simpson of Balsam Grove; sons in law which were like her own sons; Keith Hensley and Jodey Simpson of Balsam Grove; one grandson, Jacob Hensley of Balsam Grove ; two granddaughters, Melissa McCall and partner James Wynn of Brevard and Alesha McCall Floyd of Vero Beach, FL; four great grandchildren, Constance McCall of Asheville, Xavier Wynn of Brevard, Caleb and Carissa Floyd of Vero Beach, FL; one great great grandson, Pheonix; one brother, Ronvall Owen and wife Rev. Catherine Tilley Owen of Balsam Grove and Black Mountain; one sister, O’Tellia Owen Napier and husband Rodney of Forest Grove, OR; sister in law, Rosa McCall Williams of Flat Rock and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2pm, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Catherine Tilley Owen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private burial will follow.
