Brevard – William Boyce Rogers, 78, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.
A native of Transylvania County he was the son of the late Robert Henry Rogers and Mary Etta Mann Rogers and was the husband of the late Peggy Ann Danielson Rogers. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Johnny and David Rogers, and grandson, Michael Rogers.
Mr. Rogers was veteran of the U. S. Army and he was a retired Deputy Sheriff from the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Dept. He was a member of Cathey’s Creek Baptist Church and was also a member of the North Carolina Retired Peace Officers Assoc.
Surviving are his daughter, Julie Rogers Galloway and husband Terry of Rosman; sons, Tim Rogers of Cedar Mtn., Jeff Rogers and wife Traci of Brevard, Scott Rogers of Brevard; brothers, Darren H. Rogers and Ronald H. Rogers both of Rosman; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Owen officiating. Burial will be in Cathey’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted the Honor Guard for Transylvania County Veterans.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the funeral home.
