John Dewey Nicholson

Brevard – John Dewey Nicholson, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 21, 2015.
A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late F. N. and Cora Lee Holden Nicholson. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Cora Lee Bracken.
Mr. Nicholson was a U. S. Air Force veteran. He was retired from Sealtest Dairy and after retirement he worked for 15 years for Crescent View Assisted Living.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Wilma Garber Nicholson; sons, Larry Nicholson of Knoxville, TN and Randy Nicholson of Brevard; daughter, Marla Basting of Pisgah Forest; brother, Edgar Nicholson and wife Ernestine of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Joshua Nicholson and Elif Guy, Caleb Nicholson and wife Elyse, Corey Queen and wife Tiffany, Jonathan and Nathaniel Basting; great-grandchildren, Jaylon Nicholson, Diamond Nicholson, Ashton Nicholson, Anika Nicholson, Bradley Queen and Dalice Queen.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Morrow and Rev. Leo Bracken officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
