Obituary for Claire Irene Irwin (Smith)
Claire Irene Irwin (Smith), 76 of Brevard and Weaverville NC, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 10th 2015, after a brief illness.
Born in Manchester, N.H. on October 1, 1939 daughter of the late Emil J. and Cecile (Beaudoin) Smith. She was preceded in death by her sister F. Lillian Carrington and her niece Mary Carrington Cianci.
Claire enjoyed the company of a large number of close friends who all shared her love of life.
Claire graduated from the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, Hartford, CT. where she began her long career as a Register Nurse providing compassionate care for others which continued in Florida, Toronto Canada, and most recently working at the American Red Cross. She held a passion for the power of spiritual healing leading to her second calling as a Healing Touch Practitioner providing volunteer services to both Mission Hospital and the VA Hospital in Asheville, NC.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth and Robert Poulin both of Geneva, Florida, her Granddaughter Renee Ramouter of Orlando, Florida, a niece Susan M. Andrusis and two nephews William J. Carrington III and John D. Carrington, and her brother -in-law William J Carrington Jr. Claire also leaves behind her extended family of cousins in her native New Hampshire.
She will be remembered for her gentle nature, her spirituality and her loving heart.
