Brevard – Matthew Charles Hughey, 26, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016.

He was the son of Brian Shelton and wife Deedra and Diane Shelton and her companion Scott. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Liston Hughes Hughey, Jr.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his maternal grandparents; Marilyn and Curt Banther, paternal grandparents; Eugene Shelton and Lorene Fulton, brothers; David Wesley Shelton and Brian Austin Shelton, sisters; Jessica, Amanda, and Megan Shelton and Lakota Merrill, Aunt and Uncle; Teresa and Dwight Rigsby and Angela and John Meyers; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services will be held 2pm, Saturday, August 27, at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Kyle Reese officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
