Pisgah Forest – Maria Festl Mandala, 73, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016.

She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Rehmenn Festl. She was preceded in death by her husband; George Mandala, son; John Mandala and a sister, Jean Sorrentino.

Survivors include her sons; George Mandala, Jr and wife Holly of Madison, NJ, Pete Mandala and wife Jill of Greensboro, NC, Chris Mandala of Brevard and Tim Mandala and wife Debi of Boynton Beach, FL, grandchildren; George Matthew, Chloe, Devon, P.J. and Kelsey.

You were the foundation of this family. Selfless to a fault and loved more than we could ever tell you. The love you and pop shared was something rare and truly inspiring. You're family was the center of your universe and you were ours. You'll be missed every second. That will never change. But you're together again with your soulmate and the love of your life, and we take comfort in that. To know you was to love you. That's just how it was. You were surrounded by love till the very end, and you always will be. Mom, we love you. Those words don't even begin to describe how much you meant to every single life you touched by your kindness and selflessness. You were a blessing in this life. One that we will always remember with nothing but fondness and gratitude. As pop always use to say, "You're one in a million". We love you.

A Memorial Mass will be held 11am, Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
