Obituary for Rose Etta Hooper (Young)
Brevard – Rose Young Hooper, 97, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016.
She was the daughter of the late William and Georgia Burrel Young. She was preceded in death by her husband; Neal Hooper, brothers; Herb, Richard, Charles, Theodore and Jesse Young, and sister; Mary Ellen Young.
Mrs. Hooper was born and raised in Jackson County where she was a member of Yellow Mountain Baptist Church. She has lived in Brevard for over 40 years as a loving mother and grandmother. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed gardening and being outside. With a smile, kind word and good advice, she was an inspiration to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her.
Survivors include four children; Regena Lynch of Durham, NC, Robert Hooper and wife Janet of Yellow Mountain, Wayne Hooper and wife Janet of Fletcher and Glenda Blanton and husband Richard of Hendersonville; brother, Wesley Young; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
