Condolence From: Hazel Whitesides
Condolence: To my cousin Curtis Henry Gardin, l remember how your music career got started. You, me and Mrs. Esther Benjamin were the only three in the room, lol. But as you played we were your audience. You were self taught for the most part and, you went on to enjoy bigger and better things. I was ALWAYS pround of you my cousin and, when you sang Georgia on my mind, at mama's homegoing, it just did something to me.

Good night for now and never goodbye! I Love You Curtis!

Condolence From: Steven Anderson
Condolence: I just saw Curtis's obituary this morning in the paper, and am saddened to learn of his passing. I am sorry to have missed his service on Monday.

I had the opportunity to meet Curtis two or three years ago when he was playing the grand piano and singing at the restaurant now known as The Phoenix. After the piano was removed from the restaurant, Curtis put to wonderful use an electronic keyboard I wasn't using. That gift gave rise to a friendship, and an invitation to hear him play at an Easter service at the New French Broad Baptist Church off Everett Road in Pisgah Forest. What a memorable, moving experience was that service!

My sincere condolences to Curtis's family. He was a big-hearted lover of life, family and music. I will miss him, and am richer for having known him.

Condolence: My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this very difficult time. Curtis was such a talented person and he was very close to our family. He was there for me once when I was in trouble and I will never forget his kindness. I felt like a personal friend of his and then he always felt like a brother to me. He will certainly be missed. I would love to attend his service, but I have another commitment out of the state. Please know that I am praying for you all. We will all miss Curtis but God loved him best. Take care.

Condolence: Was so sorry to hear that Curtis had died. He was always special to our family. I remember when He provided piano accompaniment for the Brevard High School Chorus, his service to the music program at Morningside Baptist Church, and for our son's memorial service in 1994. His wonderful talent was a part of mine and Arvil's 50th Wedding Anniversary Party. Loved his smile and sense of humor always. God gave him so much talent and he is probably sharing it with the Great Choir in Heaven. Love and sympathy to his family and close friends. Romans 8:28

Condolence: Deepest sympathy to Curtis's family. Both of my children were part of the after school program that Curtis was involved in many years ago - he was a great asset to that program. Later I learned of his great musical talent - he will be missed.
