“Captain" John Burt Vaughan, age 64, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 25, 2017.
A lifelong resident of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late L. B. Vaughan, Sr. and Elizabeth Walker Vaughan. He was also preceded in death by a brother, L. B. Vaughan, Jr.
John, was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. A 1972 graduate of Brevard High School, he was a longtime employee of Winn Dixie known as JB Vaughan.
Survivors include his wife, Robin Clark Vaughan; daughter, Kimberlee Snoddy and husband Dusty of Etowah; grandson, Levi Ryder Snoddy; sisters, Becky Ashbaugh of Rosman, Grace Owen and husband Curtis of Pisgah Forest, Ginny Clanton and husband David of Penrose; brothers, Bill Vaughan and wife Nancy of Pisgah Forest; Tom Vaughan and Martha Maxwell of Pisgah Forest; Joe Vaughan and wife Lori of Lake Toxaway; several nieces and nephews.
As John always sang, "I'm going home, I've done my time" 🎶
The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Morningside Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
