Leesa Caroline Anderson
Leesa Caroline Anderson, 30, of Brevard, North Carolina, passed away on October 2nd, 2017 due to cancer. She was born on August 19th, 1987 in Statesville, North Carolina, daughter of David and Becky (Shumate) Anderson. She attended Parkside High School, of Salisbury, Maryland, and graduated from Lake Norman High School, of Mooresville, North Carolina, where she was a member of the women’s soccer team. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Western Carolina University in 2009.

Leesa has taught Health and Physical Education at Flat Rock Middle School, Brevard High School, and Rosman Middle and High School while also serving as a coach in golf, soccer, basketball, and softball throughout her career. She had a special place in her heart for the Adaptive Physical Education program.

Leesa had a love for the mountains, photography, waterfalls, and creative home decor. Her outgoing personality always provided wit and humor when needed. The compassion, loyalty, and sass found in all her relationships will surely be missed.

Leesa is survived by her parents David and Becky Anderson of Smithfield, North Carolina; sister Kasey Anderson; brother Kyle Anderson; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her dog Ace. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Henry and Vertie Anderson of Roaring River, North Carolina and maternal grandparents Council and Mae Shumate of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home, Brevard, North Carolina. Visitation will be Friday, October 6th, from 1-3pm at the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home and Chapel, a service to follow directly after. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to a memorial fund at Rosman Middle and High School, located at 2770 Old Rosman Hwy, Rosman, NC, 28772, to cover individual student needs that arise throughout the year — a service in which Leesa often found enjoyment.
