John Ramer Sherrill, 77, of Lake Toxaway passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018.

A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Robert Calvin and Grace Ramer Sherrill. He was preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Rimmer, brother, Bud Sherrill and granddaughter, Diamond Alexander.

John was an accomplished artist. He was a published ceramic potter who invented the pottery Valdez Flash-Firing. He was an award winning wood carver, an avid gardener and a fisherman. He was very interested in science.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty Sherrill, son, Donald Bollinger of Hendersonville, daughter, Laura Sherrill and companion Bryan Reece of Rosman, brother, RC Sherrill and wife Sue of Chesapeake Bay, VA, sisters, Martha Reed and husband Sam of Edneyville, NC and Jo Merrill of Hendersonville, grandchildren, EJ Alexander, Joy Vaughn, Matthew and David Bollinger, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1pm, Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the chapel of Moody-Connolly Life Celebrations. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
