Obituary for William George "Bill" Meece

William “Bill” George Meece, 82, of Brevard, peacefully passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018, surrounded by family.
He was born Aug. 8, 1935, to th late Myrtle Meece and Tillman Meece, of Brevard. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Paul Meece, Charles Lee Meece, David Meece, Wayne Garren, Sandra Garren, and Betty McGaha.
He served in the United States Army, and later retired from DuPont.
Survivors include his children, Todd Meece and Tim Meece, both of Brevard, and Tina Meece Messer, of Waynesville; grandchildren, Shani Kitchen, of Cashiers, Treva Stone and Micaela Meece, of Brevard, and Aydan Messer, of Waynesville; great-grandson, Wade Stone, of Brevard; sister, Mary Gillespie, of Brevard; and friends C.E. Gillespie, Gene McCrary, and Troy Mathis, all of Brevard, and Roland Hoots, of Hendersonville.

A receiving of friends will be held Sunday, June 24, 2018, from 2 to 3:40 p.m., with a memorial service following from 3:40 to 4 p.m., at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home, 181 S. Caldwell St., in Brevard.
