Obituary

Hendersonville - Agatha “Aggie” Libassi Westerhoff passed away peacefully after a hard-fought battle with Pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Born September 11, 1948, in Scranton, PA, she is predeceased by her parents, Jessie and Anthony Libassi of Scranton, PA, and her late husband, Jack Westerhoff, of Joliet, IL.
Aggie worked as an OR Nurse at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. for 25 years. After retiring and moving to Brevard with her husband she turned her passion for baking the traditional Italian cookies and desserts she grew up with into a business and became known around town as “The Italian Cookie Lady.” She enjoyed traveling in her later years and visited her family’s former town in Sicily, Italy in 2018.
Survivors include her three children, Kristin Meola of Scranton, PA, and John Westerhoff, of Hendersonville, NC and Jenny Westerhoff, of Los Angeles, CA; granddaughter, Olivia Meola and grandson, Max Meola, of Scranton, PA, and sister, Pearl Snelling, of Edison, TN.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, March 9, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm, Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make any donations in her name to Prevent Cancer Foundation.

To my best friend "Aggie"! I miss our Friday night dinners, talking about your business, your family, your children. I will always miss our Sunday morning breakfast and adventures, we had so much fun. I am so sorry that you did not pull throught this awful cancer, you did good battling it. I know that you will miss your grandbabies, and children..You loved them so much.. John has done good taking care of things, you would be proud. The kids gave you a beautiful service. I hope that heaven is everything you thought it be, and more!! I love and miss you a lot. Hopefully, you and Jack are having lots of conversations. Lot of hugs to heaven from your best friend. Give hugs to my family...my heart to yours..
