Obituary for Agatha Ann Westerhoff (Libassi)

Hendersonville - Agatha “Aggie” Libassi Westerhoff passed away peacefully after a hard-fought battle with Pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Born September 11, 1948, in Scranton, PA, she is predeceased by her parents, Jessie and Anthony Libassi of Scranton, PA, and her late husband, Jack Westerhoff, of Joliet, IL.
Aggie worked as an OR Nurse at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. for 25 years. After retiring and moving to Brevard with her husband she turned her passion for baking the traditional Italian cookies and desserts she grew up with into a business and became known around town as “The Italian Cookie Lady.” She enjoyed traveling in her later years and visited her family’s former town in Sicily, Italy in 2018.
Survivors include her three children, Kristin Meola of Scranton, PA, and John Westerhoff, of Hendersonville, NC and Jenny Westerhoff, of Los Angeles, CA; granddaughter, Olivia Meola and grandson, Max Meola, of Scranton, PA, and sister, Pearl Snelling, of Edison, TN.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, March 9, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm, Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
