Rosman – Andrew Jackson “Jack” McKelvey, age 82, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020.
He was the son of the late John Crawford and Lila Surrette McKelvey. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Galloway McKelvey, brothers, Bill and Bob McKelvey, sisters, Martha Whitson, Frances Stanley and June Salley and one granddaughter, Diamond Alexander.
A native of Transylvania County, Jack served his country in the US Marine Corp. After 40 years of employment, he retired from Ecusta. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, NASCAR and football.
Survivors include three sons, Greg McKelvey and wife Patty, Bryan Reece and wife Laura Sherrill and Eddie Reece and wife Sherry, one sister, Hazel Chapman and husband James, six grandchildren, Eric and David McKelvey, Eamon Alexander, Amber Reece, Brad Reece and wife Jill and Justin Reece and wife Brittany and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1pm, Friday, February 7, 2020 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Chappell officiating. Interment will follow the service in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with military honors provided by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
