Obituary for Annie Emolee Phillips (Hall)

Brevard - Annie Emolee Hall Phillips, the last surviving sibling of the late Rev. Judson T. Hall and Savannah Owen Hall family, peacefully went home to see Jesus and all of her dearly departed family September 11, 2021 just 6 days before her 96th birthday.

Known to the family as “Mimi”, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge N Phillips.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris Phillips Hall (Robert F Hall) and Tammy Phillips Shelton , one son, Merle Stanley Phillips (Deborah Sorrells Phillips), grandchildren, Wesley Hall, Breanne Shelton (Robert), Hannah Phillips Ray (Richard), Jesse Shelton (Nadine) and Holly Shelton and one great-grandchild Cory.

Mimi loved all types of gardening and canning. She froze and canned many ears of corn and green beans during her lifetime and was known through out the neighborhood for her beautiful flowers especially her day lilies. She also pickled beans and corn and made sauerkraut the old fashion way with a salt pack instead of using vinegar. She also worked a number of years in the county school system as a cook and server in the cafeteria at Brevard Middle School before retirement.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations be made to The St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory. https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html?sc_icid=home-btn-donate-now
