A Celebration of life service will be held Dec. 12, 2021, 2 PM at Moses Creek Baptist Church, 966 Moses Creek Rd Cullowhee NC 28723. Graveside service will follow with friends and family gathering in the church fellowship building sharing food and memories.

Bascom was a legend among hunters passing along the tradition of hound hunting. As said by his grandson, “Pa you were my idol from the very start. Everything I know about hound hunting came straight from you.” His legacy has spanned from coast to coast. Pa Bascom was a straight shooter in his words and in the woods. He didn’t believe in wasting words or ammunition. What a reunion there must be with the bear hunters and family who went before him. Words cannot describe the depth of his love for family and friends to only be exceeded by his love and faith in God. Bascom was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and Scottish Rite.
