Obituary for Billie Myers (Galloway)

Billie Galloway Myers, 47, died at home on November 16, 2022, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on October 6th, 1975.

In 2002, Billie married James Myers and they soon had a beautiful family with Luke (19), Brady (17), and Journey (11). Billie did everything in full measure and was a dedicated, loving, hard-working wife and mother: “I never really ever wanted to be married or have kids but once I met James I couldn’t see my life any other way…I 100% know that loving and caring for James and the kids is my purpose.” She spent countless hours supporting James with his business and their farm, homeschooling the kids, and endlessly considering the best way to educate them, taking them on field trips or hikes, attending football games and horse-riding lessons. She sincerely loved spending time with her family.

Even while battling cancer for five years, Billie always kept her eyes on God and encouraged others through her faithful witness: “The thing that God brings me back to a million times a day in a million little ways is...Tell them how good I am. I just keep coming back to this place of just being overwhelmed with God’s goodness to me. I know people would look at my situation and think God’s goodness isn’t the first thing that would come to mind, but this past year He has been so real to me and such a sweet and faithful companion. Our circumstances can never overshadow His goodness.”

As a friend recently said, Billie was “our encourager”. She was always thinking of others first, encouraging them and supporting them through whatever difficulty they were going through, convincing them that they had the strength and God’s help. Our hearts are aching without Billie, but we rejoice in the promise of seeing her again.

Billie is survived by her beloved husband, James, and three children, Luke, Brady, and Journey, her parents, Bill and Helen Galloway, and her brother Jason and his wife Trish of Georgia.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Friday, November 25, 2022, at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends starting at 11 AM.
