Obituary for Bobby Joe Howard
Rev. Bobby Joe Howard, age 79, of Brevard went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 22, 2019.
He was the son of the late Raymond Howard and Omie Carson Smith. He was preceded in death by one son, Kenny Howard, one daughter, Vicki Howard, two brothers, Levi Howard and Ernest Smith and one sister, Gladys Trantham.
Pastor Bobby loved the Lord and people. He had a radio broadcast in the Western North Carolina area for 52 years preaching the gospel of Jesus. Pastor Bobby also owned and operated a ceramic tile business in Brevard.
Survivors include step mom, Jessie Howard of Bryson City, one son, Gary Howard of Brevard, five brothers, Charles Howard and his wife Sandy of Mount Holly, Ed Smith and his wife Lois of Asheville, Jack Smith of Asheville, Eugene and Dennis Howard of Bryson City, four sisters, Marcia Hollifield of Robbinsville, Linda Lowe and Judy Blevins of Bryson City, Linda Smith of Asheville, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WGCR, 3232 Hendersonville Hwy, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768.
Funeral Services will be held 2pm, Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Barton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
