Obituary for Brian Scott Kassel Jr.

Brian Scott Kassel, Jr. Age 38 of Boiling Springs, SC passed away January 14, 2021 after a brief illness and hospitalization.
To his family and friends who were not yet finished making memories with him, the sense of loss is enormous. He made a big impact on the lives he blessed with his presence. He now walks with God, Jesus and those of his loving family that have passed away before him.
Brian was born and raised in Western, New York. He graduated high school in 2000 and immediately set out to live life to the fullest. He had an amazing work ethic, a passion for travel and working with his hands. He has traveled to all 50 states and much of Canada making friends wherever he went, of which he considered some family.
Family was important to him. When his family moved to North Carolina in 2002 he soon followed. Brian always had the entrepreneurial spirit, which lead him to take the leap and open his first successful company “Foothills Drilling Equipment, Inc.” based in Columbus, NC in 2015, and subsequently several others followed. His companies will be his ongoing physical legacy as they thrive and provide jobs to faithful employees that he counted as friends.
He is survived by his parents, Brian Sr. and Valerie Kassel of Pisgah Forest, NC. A brother, Erik Kassel a sister, Katelyn Lund and brother in-law John Lund, as well as 7 Nephews and 2 Nieces who he adored. Brian loved being an Uncle, and children were drawn to him. There was always one sitting on his knee and two at his feet seeking his attention. His spirit and presence will always be with us and never forgotten.
A private Catholic Funeral Mass will be held, followed by a 1:30pm Graveside Internment Service at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest, NC open to all family and friends. Please respect current Covid-19 guidelines requiring face masks and social distancing.
We ask in lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local Habitat for Humanity in Brian’s name.
