Obituary for Carroll Grey Fugate
Carroll Grey Fugate passed away on March 16, 2023, at the age of 84. He was a resident of Pisgah Forest, NC.
Born on September 24, 1938, in Cashiers, NC, he was the son of Charles "Homer" Fugate and Eula Littleton Fugate. He grew up in the Cashiers area, where after graduation from high school, he served four years in the US Air Force. Upon returning, he moved to Brevard, NC where he was employed at the Ecusta Paper Mill where he worked until his retirement in 1999.
Throughout his life he had a love for Country Music and learned to play the guitar and sang. He has performed at many locations around Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina.
He is preceded in death by a son, Brian Grey Fugate, his wife, Helen King Fugate, and a sister, Leontine Love and brother, Gerald Fugate.
Surviving is one son, Anthony "Tony" Fugate from Pisgah Forest, NC; two sisters, Lila Ruth Stewart of Brevard, NC and Sandra Fugate, Cashiers, NC; one brother, Paul Fugate, Cashiers, NC; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service,
