Obituary for Chris Loyd Worsham

Chris Loyd Worsham, 62, of Hendersonville passed away at Duke University Medical Center on Saturday, March 30, 2024 following a lengthy battle with cancer and the long-term effects from treatment.  Chris spent the majority of his career in the grocery industry working as a produce manager for Harris Teeter.  A dedicated employee he was always willing to put in the necessary work to make his department shine for the stores in which he worked. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Worsham and Mary Keadle; sisters, Nancy and Libby; brothers, Bill and Floyd, Jr.

Chris was the true definition of a family man, never missing an opportunity to spend time with his family. His kids and grandkids brought him the most joy in life. Often the biggest kid in the room he was ready to wrestle, jump in a creek or build a fort.  He took pride in teaching his skill with woodworking and loved spending time in the woods hiking and camping. The love he had for his wife, kids and grandkids was immeasurable. While he was not a man of many words, when he spoke, you listened.

Chris is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Christine; children, Christopher Worsham (Holly), Jason Tech (Casey), and Jessica Juergens (Pete); grandchildren, Christian, Levi, Logan, Aydan, Annaleisa and Kalyn, Lucas, Ava and Leila; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be held from 3-4pm on Friday, April 5, 2024, in the chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home in Brevard, NC. A service will follow at 4pm in the chapel with Layperson Mark Sudimak officiating the service.
