Obituary for Crawford Lowe

Douglas ‘Crawford’ Lowe, 78, of Brevard, passed away at his home peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2020, after a long illness.
He was the son of the late Abe and Ruth Waldrup Lowe. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elizabeth Lowe, Polly Barak (Temple City, Ca), Irene Bunnell (Brevard), Grace Wilson (Brevard), Dottie Morgan (Rosman) and Helen Greene (Six Mile, SC); and brothers, James Howard ‘Stud’ Lowe, and Levis ‘Leb’ Lowe.

Survivors include his loving wife, Linda “Jeanette’ Lowe of the home, daughter, Anita Lowe (Boone), step-sons Jerry Corn and wife JJ (St. Gemain, WI), Danny Corn and wife Katherine (Hendersonville) step-daughter Carol Corn (Brevard); brothers Lloyd Lowe and wife Martha (Brevard), Ted Lowe and wife Freda (Rosman) and Bill Lowe (Brevard); and sister, Nancy Ann Chapman and husband Joe (Greenwood, SC), and many nieces and nephews.

Crawford spent most of his life in construction and maintenance but was a jack of all trades. He was independent, stubborn and loving. There were very few things he could not do and was willing to share that knowledge and be the first one to help any who were in need. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved playing practical jokes.

On his behalf, the family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers that were made on his behalf and especially his nephew, Wayne Hinkle, for always being there for anything that was ever needed.

Due to the virus, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
