Obituary for Denise Kathy Veenhof (Rozier)
Denise “Dee” Rozier Veenhof, 65, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023. Her great smile, joy of life and love of people will be missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded by her husband Willem Dirk Veenhof of Brevard; her mother, Doris Bullock Rozier of Brevard, NC; and her father, Clifford James Rozier of Lizella, GA.
Dee was born in Chester, Pennsylvania on July 5, 1957. She graduated from Cleveland High School, Cleveland, Mississippi, in 1975 and completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Delta State University, Cleveland, Mississippi in 1979. She met her late husband, Willem Veenhof, and married in December 1979. They lived in various cities in the United States, and discovered Brevard, North Carolina, where they moved to in 1995.
She loved spending time with her family, pets, friends, painting and gardening. In Brevard; she enjoyed supporting the activities at Silvermont Park, participating with the Transylvania County Extension Master Gardeners and the Transylvania Cruisers. With her husband, they founded and built Bear Arms Indoor Shooting Range.
Dee is survived by her sister, Debbie Beach (Woodie) of Vicksburg; niece, Meredith Beach Fox (Frank) of El Cajon, CA; great nieces, Bridget Fox and Rory Fox of El Cajon, CA; close cousin, Gail Cummins of Brevard, NC; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.
