Dixie Crane Cassell, age 90 of Brevard, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 11, 2019.
Mrs. Cassell was born on August 24, 1928 in Transylvania County, NC to the late Charles and Lenora Owen Crane. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Cassell, and three brothers, Jimmy Crane, Joe Crane and David Crane.
Mrs. Cassell was a member of Carson’s Creek Baptist Church, had been employed by Olin Corp., and was retired from the Transylvania Co. School System.
Survivors include two sons, Morris Cassell and John Cassell both of Brevard; one sister, Helen Hubbard and husband Milford of Brevard; one granddaughter, Heidi Marie Walker; one great-grandson, Tristan Walker.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Carson’s Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Big Hill Cemetery.
