Obituary for Donnie Vee McCall
Donnie Vee Elvira McCall, age 93, born May 27, 1929, died February 11, 2023, at Sunnybrook Assisted Living in Hendersonville NC.
Donnie Vee is the daughter of the late Richard & Callie McCall of Balsam Grove NC. She celebrated 60 years of marriage with her late husband Benjamin Franklin (B.F.) McCall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, her husband and one granddaughter, Kristina Cheryl (Cherri) Mann.
Surviving is one sister, Reba Mae McCall Smith of North Wilkesboro NC, two daughters, Hazel Charlene McCall Mann and husband Kenneth of Etowah NC and LaDonna Lynne McCall Gosnell and husband Mark of Hendersonville NC, one son, Anthony Franklin (Tony) McCall and wife Donna of Brevard NC, three grandchildren, Hannon Grant (Scooter) McCall, Rebekah Noelle Gosnell, Sarah Elizabeth Gosnell Arden, and husband Brian.
Donnie Vee loved The Lord and shared her faith through music. She sang soprano with different quartets and went various places to spread the message. She was a wonderful homemaker, enjoyed sewing, crocheting, making jelly, canning, decorating her home and took such pride in decorating the family Christmas tree each year. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. She is a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Balsam Grove NC.
A graveside service will be held at Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 11:00AM with Reverend Don Johnson officiating.
