Obituary for Doris Lamar Mitchell (Mitchell)
Doris Lamar Mitchell Fell asleep in Jesus on October 15, 2022.
Doris was the oldest surviving daughter of Glen and Evon Mitchell. She was the proud mother of five boys and one girl. Doris was 84 years old, born on March 15 1938. Doris outlived her two oldest sons Jimmy Abbott and Danny Abbott. Doris has 17 grand kids and 18 great grand kids.
Doris overcame alcohol and tobacco through Jesus, her savior. She made the Bible her source of truth and strength. As health allowed, she was faithfully in church every Sabbath according to God’s Ten Commandments. Doris tested every Christian teaching by Scripture. Doris provided special Christian education to her children as circumstance would allow. She often took grandchildren to church and tried to teach family members About God’s grand plan of salvation. The Great Controversy between Satan and God was clearly demonstrated in Doris’s life. Praise God Satan loses and Jesus wins. Doris loved the Seventh Day Adventist church.
Doris’s six children are: Jimmy Ray Abbott, Danny Abbott, Rex Junior Abbott, Andrew Kevin Abbott, Robbie Talcom Wright, and Angelia Evon Hemphill.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
