Obituary for Dorothy Sue Maddox (Holden)
Dorothy “Sue” Holden Maddox, age 74, passed away peacefully August 23, 2019.
She was born April 17, 1945 in Brevard to the late Roy and Mary Holden. She married her longtime friend and love, Ronnie Joe Davis Maddox, in July of 1963 who preceded her in death January 18, 2016. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Jesse Holden, and her sister, Barbara Costopoulos.
Sue loved talking with and caring for people. She enjoyed attending family gatherings, baby shower, weddings, birthday parties.
She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Tracy and Mark Pace, Rhonda and Tony Mason, and Stephanie Maddox; grandchildren, Matt & Michelle Pace, Katelynne Pace, Caroline Pace, Elisabeth Pace, Amanda & Mitch Allison, Emily & Kristian Galloway, Abby Mason, Justin Chandler and Jordyn & Kenneth Davis; plus 7 great grandchildren; her brother and his wife Bud and Helen; sisters Diedra and her husband Mark, and Carol; many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Please join us in celebrating her life Friday evening August 30, 2019, between 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Moody Connolly, 181 S. Caldwell St., Brevard NC 28712.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Four Seasons Elizabeth House, 581 S. Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28732.
