Obituary for Elgava Arlette Jones (Harris)
Elgava Arlette Jones, 95 of Travelers Rest, SC wife of the late Paul Bruce Jones went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 11, 2021.
Born in Jackson County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Vess Harris and Ella Lee Phillips.
Mrs. Jones was a retired textile worker and of the Church of God faith. She was an avid gardener and took pride in tending her flowers and garden. She was an accomplished seamstress and she enjoyed farm life and loved animals.
She is survived by her son Robert Jones and her daughter, Brenda Harris (Harold), five grandchildren, James Holloway, Robert Lee Jones, Bill Jones, Jennifer Holloway, & Paul Jones, six great grandchildren; Tyler Ammons, Hannah Jones, Hunter Edens, Sara Holloway, Matthew Jones and Gabrielle “Gaby” Holloway, numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, William Vess, Jr, Charles Bynum, John Lee “Bill”, and Paul Bruce Harris and a sister Dovie Marquata Owen.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Thursday, April 15, 2021 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rock Bridge Cemetery in Jackson Co., NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
