Guy Queen, 78, of Brevard, went home to be with the Lord, April 30, 2023. He was the son of the late Guy Queen Sr. and Laura Annette Queen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Judith Mills Queen; his sisters Doris Ruff and Maxine Parton, and his brother Jim Queen.

Guy worked at DuPont for over 30 years, retiring in 1993. His retirement years were devoted to Pisgah Forest Baptist Church where he shared his gentle spirit with the children. Guy never met a stranger and loved to share his stories with anyone who would listen. All who knew him learned how to tell a maple tree from an oak tree, how to plant a garden and raise blueberry bushes, why the Allman Brothers are better than the Grateful Dead, and why Dean Smith’s dedication to education made him the greatest basketball coach ever.

Guy adored his family. He was a wonderful husband, loving father, caring brother, doting grandfather, and a special friend. Surviving him are his daughters; Angela Wimberly of Wilmington, NC and Sherri Owen of Pisgah Forest, brother; David Queen of Racine, Wisconsin, grandchildren; Jacob, Sam, Ellie, Rachel, and Emily, and great-granddaughter; Willow.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday May 5th at 2pm at Pisgah Forest Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
