Obituary for Guyma Nicholson (Whitmire)
Guyma Whitmire Nicholson, 79 of Brevard, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018. She was born May 28, 1939, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her church membership was at Rosman Baptist Tabernacle.
She is survived by her children: Charles Nicholson (Cheryl), Judy Carper (Ben), and Clarinda Whitmire. Nine grandchildren: Daniel Nicholson (Kim), Caleb Nicholson (Brandi), Stephen Nicholson (Nicole), Adam Nicholson, Carolyn Kelterborn (Jonathan), Logan Carper, Joshua Whitmire, Clarissa Ramey (Matt), and Trale Isaac Whitmire. Nine great-grandchildren: Aidan, Evan, Landan, Westan, Grady, Bryson, Mason, Layton, and Indie. She is survived by two brothers, Johnny Whitmire and Daniel Whitmire, and two sisters, Marlene Brand and Mildred Laughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Henry B. Nicholson, son-in-law John Whitmire, grandson Trale Nathaniel Whitmire, parents Guy and Clara Whitmire, brothers Haskell and Jack Whitmire, sisters Bernice Merritt and Madith Orr.
The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Rosman Baptist Tabernacle. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 9324 Rosman Highway, Rosman, NC 28772.
