Obituary for Harry Joseph Moore Jr.
Lake Toxaway - Harry “Joe” Moore, 78, passed away Sunday September 18, 2022 at home surrounded by loved ones.
He was the loving husband of Donna Moore for 57 years. He retired from the National Elevator Union after 36 years. He was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served in the Knights of Columbus. With the help of others, he cooked and served many meals for his parish.
Joe was known for his sense of humor and willingness to help others. He loved working with his hands, especially with wood, carving animals, making toyboxes, and other large projects. Everything he crafted was a labor of love.
Survivors include his wife Donna Moore, brother, Michael Moore, sisters, Janet Gee, Marilyn Hardesty and Yvonne Noonan, daughters, Dana Godwin (Raymond Godwin), Kimberly Holt (Leroy Holt) and Kathyrn Godwin, grandchildren, Amber Hatch, Brittany Jones, Cody Godwin, Heather Holt, Jonathan Holt, Brayden Waters, four greatgrandchildren and many other family and friends.
A memorial mass will be held 10am, Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
