Obituary for Helen Smith (Crawford)
Nancy Helen Smith, 89, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Transylvania Regional Hospital.
Helen was born April 15, 1933 to Robert Crawford and Gertrude Gibson in Louisville, KY.
Helen is survived by her husband Stanley through 62 years of loving marriage; her children Steven (Sharon) Smith of Waxahachie, TX, and Terri (Al) Delbridge of Wilkesboro, NC; grandchildren: Tyler (Katie) Smith of Keller TX, Jake Smith on aircraft carrier U.S.S. George H. W. Bush, Lauren Delbridge of Charlotte, NC and Sydney Delbridge of San Francisco, CA; great grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth and Matthew Crawford.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Crawford, and sisters Ruth Crawford Wade, Dorothy Crawford Beard, and Jeane Crawford Keown.
She dedicated her life to being a loving and wonderful wife and mother. She loved to travel and enjoyed several years living in and traveling around Europe with Stan. She also loved reading, antiquing and gardening.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, March 31, 2023 at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville,KY. Visitation will be from 10:30 until the time of the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
A separate memorial service will be held at Brevard – Davidson River Presbyterian Church in Brevard, NC at a later date.
