Obituary for Isabelle Myers Reiner (Noggle)
The world is a little less bright because on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 this lovely lady, Isabelle Myers Noggle Reiner left it.
She was born on August 5, 1922 to the late Harvey and Maud Myers Noggle in Circleville, OH. Survivors include her husband, Oscar Reiner, four nieces and a nephew.
Born and raised in a small town in Ohio, she stretched her wings and landed in Hollywood, CA and later, Brevard, NC. He education included Circleville High School and ninety-seven years in the “school of life”. Her occupation included linotype operator at the local newspaper, travel consultant at AAA, and an employee of May Department Store in Los Angeles, where she met the love of her life, Oscar, in 1950.
Being a bit of a romantic, she suggested their wedding take place in a little chapel just two blocks away from the intersection of Hollywood and Vine. That marriage stood the test of time because last September 23, the Reiner’s celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.
Travel was almost a way of life for the Reiners, as they took in points of interest all over the country. In fact, it was a trip to Asheville, NC and the Biltmore House that tempted them to relocate here in retirement. Since 1991, first Brevard and then College Walk have been their home.
Isabelle was never one to be idle. She loved reading, writing and walking. She also engaged in water aerobics at the Brevard Racquet Club. Poetry became her fascination, and she created an impressive collection of verse, some of which she shared with her friends at College Walk during a number of performances. Another of her notable accomplishments is a huge collage that graces one of her bedroom walls, entitled “Issies’s Proverbial Calendar”. In it, she displays cutouts appropriate for each month of the year arranged in chronological order from January to December.
Brevard Little Theater held a special place in Isabelle’s heart. There Oscar built sets, and she handled props for many years. After retiring from those areas, the two of them and another couple continued to attend every show until the fall of 2019.
Everyone who new Isabelle admired her friendly personality, sense of humor, contagious smile, and cute “little girl” laugh. She loved jewelry and wore a necklace even if all she had planned was to stay around the house all day. She loved life and she loved people, both of which were immediately evident to everyone who knew her.
The funeral is private, and a celebration of life will be held at College Walk at a later date.
