Obituary for Jack Benny Shelton
Jack Benny Shelton, age 66, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 after a battle with cancer.
He is preceded in death by his father, Coy Shelton, his mother, Jewell Shelton, his brother, Waybern Shelton and a nephew, Travis Galloway.
Born on November 30, 1954, he was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to all whose lives he touched. Jack or Benny as his family knew him as grew up in Rosman, NC and spent his days playing with his brothers and sisters. Jack went to Rosman High School until he graduated. He was a faithful employee at Ryobi in SC for several years until the early 2000s when he was laid off and went to work at Gaia Herbs in Brevard until his retirement in 2015. He was an avid watcher of sports and took care of his parents for as long as time would allow.
Survivors include his brothers, Paul Shelton of Rosman, NC, Terry Shelton of Brevard, NC, Troy Shelton(Lisa) of Easley, SC, Timothy Shelton of Quebec, NC, two sisters, Linda Wright of Leicester, NC and Rita Searcy(Ronnie) of Brevard, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2pm, Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Moody-Connolly funeral home. The family will receive family and friends from 1:00-2:00pm. Interment will follow the service in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
