James Ernest McCall, age 72, of Brevard, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2018.
He was the son of the late Esby and Angeline Galloway McCall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florina McCall, one brother, Jule McCall, one step son, Dean Harris and one step daughter, Nancy Harris.
A native of Transylvania County, Jimmy proudly served his country as a U. S. Marine. Jimmy, affectionately known as “Bubba”, was loved by many members of his family. He had a passion for cars and trucks, a good steak and guns.
Survivors include his daughters by choice, Darla Slonecker and husband Rick of Brevard, Vicky Smith and husband Allan of Etowah, Treva Morgan and husband Kevin of Pisgah Forest, Donna Stroup and husband Greg of Brevard, Kim Eubanks and husband Jeff of Brevard, Audrey Harris of Brevard and April Taylor and husband Bobby of Crestview, FL, two brothers, Charlie McCall and wife Kathy of Balsam Grove and Spurgeon McCall of Brevard, 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2pm, Friday, November 9, 2018 in the chapel of Moody-Connolly Life Celebrations with the Rev. Kevin Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Dunns Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
