James Gary Queen “Jim”, 84, died October 9, 2022, after a battle with dementia.

Jim was born in Waynesville, NC to the late Guy and Annette Queen. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by first wife, Thalia McCrary Queen, two sisters, Doris and Maxine, and one nephew, David.

Survivors include his wife Linda Myers Smith Queen; daughter, Diane (Jerry); son, Randy (Karen); brothers, Guy Jr. and David (Debbie); granddaughter, Lauren (Adam); grandson, Austin (Makayla); great grandsons, Liam and Kayden; stepson, Mitchell Smith (Sharon); stepdaughter, Angie Smith; step grandson, Andy Smith; step granddaughter, Ally Smith; four nephews and four nieces, several great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Dunn’s Creek Cemetery.

Jim’s wife, Linda, would like to thank her wonderful sisters, Debbie and Gail, and would like to also thank Kingsbridge House for their great care. For the loving care of Jim by Johnnie, Devan and Haelyn, thank you so much. You were so good to him. Jim was the sweetest, quietest and nicest gentleman.
