Clarence was loved by all who met him. He played with a lot of Blue Grass Bands around the county. He loved going to Lake Toxaway Community Center, where he made many friends from here and afar. They loved hearing him sing "Dirty Dishes" and loved him so much a group of ladies had a picture of him printed on T-Shirts! A picture of him has hung in the Community Center for years.

He was an avid rabbit hunter and loved his beagles. He could talk for hours about his adventures with his many hunting buddies, his brother Hayes and nephew Ricky, who would take him 3 hours away to hear a good rabbit chase.
Clarence also loved the Dodgers! Before TV became popular, him and his brother would sit for hours on the phone, both listening on the radio to the Dodgers playing the Braves.

He was an avid horseshoe pitcher. When he first started pitching , they used real shoes from horses. He grew into one of the best horseshoe pitchers around. He was so good, people named him "The Legend". Everyone loved being his partner, it was guaranteed a first-place win! His style of pitching influenced a lot to learn to pitch the way he did.
