Obituary for Jency McCall Lambert

Jency McCall Lambert, 87, of Brevard went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 24, 2020, ten days after her beloved husband Richard passed away. She was born in Transylvania County, NC on November 16, 1932 to the late Archie McCall and Vinessa Owen McCall Neill. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Lionel McCall and in-laws Paul, Arthur, Albert (Curly), Hugh Jr, Lloyd, Jackie and Johnny Lambert; Mary Luff, Virginia Sweet, Harold Owen, and David Jones. She was also preceded in death by her lifelong best friend, Dorris Owen.
She is survived by her son, Ricky, and wife Amanda, of Pisgah Forest. She delighted in being Mamaw to her adored grandson Easton and grand-dog Valley. She is survived by her brothers and sisters in-law Roy Lambert of Cherokee, Betty McCall of Brevard, Sarah Owen Jones of Brevard, Peggy (Carl) Phipps of Winston-Salem, and Lorraine Lambert of Indiana. She Is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Mark (Jeanne) McCall of Cedar Mountain, Dianne (Gene) Potts of Brevard, Susan Campbell of Brevard who all went above and beyond to assist in the care of Richard and Jency.
Jency graduated at the top of her class from Rosman High School. After graduation, she attended Berea College. She and Richard were married on June 27, 1954 at Cherryfield Baptist Church in Brevard. She worked at Olin until medically retiring early in her career.
Jency was a member for over 70 years at Cherryfield Baptist Church. She loved spoiling anyone who came into her home. She was a faithful Bible reader, true friend to all, and never forgot to send a card for special occasions. She can now rest in the arms of his Savior and will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Weekday Children’s Program Playground Fund.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Cathey's Creek Baptist Church in Brevard. Rev. Tony Lambert officiating.
