Obituary

Jesse Fred Galloway, age 87, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019.
Mr. Galloway was born on December 26, 1931 in Transylvania County, NC to the late Lesco Jackson Galloway and Ruby Masters Galloway. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Summey, and a brother, Ernest Odell Galloway.
He loved Bluegrass music, camping, traveling on tour buses and working in his garage. Mr. Galloway was always helping out his neighbors and he was the longtime caretaker of the old Selica School which is now the Cathey’s Creek Community Center.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Owen Galloway; two daughters, Karen Hughes and husband Larry of Brevard and Susie Moody and husband Carlton of Brevard; one son, Dean Galloway and wife Karen of Brevard; one sister, Betty Summey of Brevard; four grandchildren, Scott, Misty, Holly, and Kaeden; two great-grandchildren, Asa and Finley.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 2, 2019 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memories.
The family would like to thank Tore’s Assisted Living and Care Partners Hospice for the loving care they gave Mr. Galloway.

We loved Fred. He was one of my dad's best friends. He helped my dad out a lot, and they did a lot of work together. He was always good to our family. We will never forget him. Praying for you Joann, and Family.
