Obituary for Jessica Lea Morgan (Brown)
Lake Toxaway - Jessica Lea Morgan, 40, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 after a lengthy battle with metastatic breast cancer.
She was the daughter of Cindy Anders (Kenneth, deceased) and Walter “Buzz” Brown (Angie). In addition to her parents, she is survived by her two children, Bella and Blaine Morgan of Mills River; her four siblings, Matt Brown of Lake Toxaway, Jennifer Morgan (Michael) of Sylvania, GA, Chris Shook of Lake Toxaway, and Travis Brown of Old Fort; her aunts and uncle, Eddie and Sherry Reece of Pisgah Forest, and Anne Phillips of Brevard; and numerous cousins.
She was a 2000 graduate of Rosman High School and a 2013 graduate of Asheville Buncombe Technical College with her Associates Degree in Nursing. Soon after graduating from nursing school, she suffered a massive brain aneurysm that prevented her from practicing her passion. A short time later she went to live with her mother who lovingly cared for her the remainder of her life. During that time, she thoroughly enjoyed spending her days at Mountain Care Adult Day Program. Despite the many challenges she faced, Jessica approached life with a positive attitude, kindness towards others, and a smile on her face.
A graveside service will be held at Anders Cemetery in Lake Toxaway on February 24, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Derek Tilley officiating. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Messino Cancer Center and Four Seasons Hospice for their excellent care during Jessica’s extended illness.
