When possible, she attended the games in Chapel Hill and enjoyed cheering for her beloved Tarheels. She had many friends and lots of family and extended family that enjoyed doing life with her.

Jimmie was a woman of strong faith and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Brevard NC. She would read her bible every night. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 91 which begins with “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Even near to the end of her life, she would quote this scripture. She enjoyed playing the old hymns on her organ, amazing her family with more of her many talents.

Jimmie was a retired Registered Nurse. She graduated from Rutherford Hospital School of Nursing in 1953 and started her nursing career in Brevard, NC at the old Transylvania Community Hospital as an OR nurse.
