Obituary for JoAnn Fisk (Pederson)

JoAnn Pederson Fisk of Brevard, North Carolina, was taken by her Savior to her heavenly home December 5, 2019, while surrounded by loved ones. JoAnn was a sweet and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who at 88 had lived a wonderful, happy life. She was known for her beautiful blue eyes and her winning smile that everyone noticed and loved.
Born March 28, 1931 in Aurora, Illinois, she was the daughter of Edgar and Margaret (Jansen) Pederson. After graduation from Aurora West High School, JoAnn continued her education at Wheaton College, graduating in 1955. While working at the Billy Graham office in Minneapolis, she met Gordon Allen Fisk. The two married in 1962 and their love story lasted 57 years. But as her husband would say, it was not nearly long enough.
She leaves behind her beloved husband Gordon, two daughters Maren Ann Mulholland, Laurel Joy Jones and four grandchildren: Anna Grace (Mulholland) Bruce, Benjamin Gordon Jones, Heather Maren Mulholland and Stephen David Bruce Mulholland. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis.
JoAnn loved her family and her home in Deerlake Village, where she lived for 20 years enjoying her yard, flowers, neighborhood and church. She loved the sandy coast of Florida. Every December, she enjoyed sitting at the edge of the surf, watching the sea gulls and pelicans, the moon dancing on the ocean waves and smelling the salty air. JoAnn loved her Savior most of all.
A memorial service in her honor is planned for December 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Brevard First Baptist Church, 94 Gaston Street, Brevard, NC.
