Obituary for John Gordon Lampert
John Gordon Lampert, age 80 passed away Nov. 10, 2020. He was born April 7, 1940 in Upper Darby, PA.
He is preceded by his parents Kenneth and Meredith and a brother Ralph.
He was the son of the late Kenneth and Meredith Lampert. John graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from Lafayette College in 1962. He then relocated to upstate, NY starting his career with DuPont. After retiring from DuPont, he settled in Brevard NC.
John was a member of the Unitarian Universalist and The American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He enjoyed hiking and bicycling with his wife Betsy, He was also an avid classic car hobbyist having restored a 1962 Studebaker Avanti and a 1964 Volvo PV544. John had a wonderful and very warm personality. He was very kind and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had numerous friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Betsy Culpepper, three sons Doug Lampert (Sharon), Mike Lampert (Wendy), Jon Lampert (Tian), two daughters, Sue Miller (Jerry), Kristin Lampert, stepdaughter Hannah Tvedten, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A private family service will be held.
