Obituary for John Cecil Stone

Mills River - John Cecil “Rebel” Stone, 61, gained his wings, following a brief illness, at Margaret R. Pardee Memorial-UNC Health Hospital on February 4, 2022.
John had a zest and love for life, matched only by his love for family and friends, that included riding his bike (motorcycle), fishing, hunting, and cookouts, where he would joke, “Move over and outta the way, Fat Boy on grill duty.”
To meet John meant he loved you, and there was little chance he wouldn’t steal your heart and you fall in love with his infectious smile and genuine heart.
John was preceded in death by his Father, John “Jack” Stone and sister, Betty Jo “Toad” Stone, both of Albany, Ga. As well as, both his Maternal and Paternal Grandparents.
To continue John’s legacy, he leaves behind his brother, William Stone and wife, Olivia, with whom John lived and resided with, of Mills River, NC. His mother, Jane Veal and husband, John’s “bonus dad”, Ennis, of Ocilla, GA. Sister, Theresa Lytton and husband, Woodrow (Woody), of Albany, GA. Sister, Janie Dawkins and husband Gary, of Lawrenceville, GA. Sister, Amelia (Amy) Boggs and husband Bobby, of Albany, GA. Friend and caretaker, Amy (his itty bitty) Payton, of Mills River, NC. John leaves behind no biological children, but spent his life helping raise numerous children, worth mention, Jonathon (JJ), Ashly, MacKenzie, and Blaine. Along, with numerous Nephews and Nieces.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
