Obituary for Joseph Glenn Zeigler

Brevard - Joseph Glenn Zeigler, age 69, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 after his fight with cancer.

Joe was born on December 17, 1951 in Columbus, Indiana to Lois Zeigler and the late Robert Zeigler. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brother in law, Wayburn Shelton and great nephew, Matthew Whitmire.

He was a retired United States Navy Chief Petty Officer First Class who dedicated 28 years of service to his country. He loved antique vehicles, carpentry and golf. He was an exceptionally good cook and always had an answer for everything. His unwavering love and devotion to his children and grandchildren will never be forgotten nor unappreciated.

Survivors include his mother Lois, ex-wife and friend Beverly Ann Zeigler, son, Matthew Joseph Zeigler, daughter, Nicole Cherie Zeigler Miller, grandchildren, Remy Gavin Fisher and Phoebe Lux Fisher, step son, Michael St. Louis and wife Mary, sisters, Rebecca Shelton and Colleen Fields and her husband Roger, brother, Phillip Fields and his wife, Nadine, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who loved him dearly.

Joe was an extraordinarily honorable man who was always there for his family. He sacrificed years of his life and spent months at sea missing them to ensure he adequately provided for them. He was loved and respected more than he ever knew. He will be missed immensely by his family, friends and all who knew him. He will forever be in our hearts.

A gathering of friends will be held 6pm – 8pm, Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Moody Connolly Funeral Home.
