Obituary for Joshua Stephen Whitmire

Joshua Stephen Whitmire, 45, of Hendersonville, is now at peace in the arms of his Heavenly Father.

He was born January 17, 1976, in Transylvania County and is the son of Steve and Janice (Fisher) Whitmire. In addition to his parents Josh is survived by his wife Andrea (Maybin) Whitmire; sons Hayden (15), Eli (13), and Grayson (4); brother Clint Whitmire (Brittany) of Candler; four nephews Cameron Whitmire, Liam Whitmire, Peyton Whitmire, and Maddox Whitmire; two nieces Sadie Whitmire and Kennedy Whitmire.

Josh attended Rosman schools and graduated from Rosman High School in 1994. After graduating he held various jobs as a machinist, was a Team Lead at Raflatac, and he and his wife currently own Maybin's Garbage Service. He was a member of Shaws Creek Baptist Church.

Josh loved the outdoors. Growing up he spent countless hours fishing the creek banks of East Fork and Glady Fork. His favorite pastimes included hunting and fishing with his boys, off roading, or restoring his 1968 Roadrunner. He could fix anything, and would extend those same hands to help anyone. Although Josh was a quiet soul by nature he had the ability to form lasting friendships. He will be missed by so many.

Services will be held at Moody Connolly Funeral Home on Monday, May 3, 2021. Revs. Butch Skerrett and Tommy Crocker will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 2 PM followed by the funeral at 3 PM Burial will follow at the Haskel Powell Memorial Cemetery.
