Obituary for Kathy Lee Barton (Luker)

Kathy Lee Luker Barton, 69, of Old Toxaway, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.

Born January 2, 1953, she was a loving wife, mother, Nana, great-Nana, sister, aunt, and niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Luker and Carrie Searcy Luker; parents-in-law, Davis Barton and Iona Owen Barton; brothers, Lloyd, Floyd, Ray, and Rafalee Luker; sister, Lois Luker Galloway; brothers-in-law, Boyd and Don’L Barton; and sister-in-law, Elaine Barton Cannon, all from Transylvania County.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Leon Barton, of Old Toxaway; children, Claudia Whitmire Henderson and husband, Bryan, of Old Toxaway, Jason Whitmire and wife, Nicole, of Old Toxaway, Jessica Barton Meece and husband, Kyle, of Six Mile; grandchildren, Briana Henderson Beddingfield and husband, Brandon, of Old Toxaway, Tucker, Luke, and Gloria Whitmire of Old Toxaway, Ava Meece of Six Mile; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Timothy Beddingfield, of Old Toxaway; sisters-in-law, Danila and Kathryn Luker of Rosman, Velda Barton Hoxit, and husband, Jerry of Cathey’s Creek, Donna Barton White, and husband Robert (Bob), of Old Toxaway; aunt, Ruby Reid Raines, of Brevard; and a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Rosman Church of God, Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm; the funeral service will follow immediately beginning at 2:00pm. Service will be conducted by Rev. Don Johnson, Rev. Luther Meece, and Rev. Danny Eubanks. Pallbearers will include Tucker Whitmire, Luke Whitmire, Brandon Beddingfield, Boe Barton, Josh Luker, and Wayne Orr.
Burial will follow at Cathey’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
